Wimbledon, a district in southwest London, is internationally famous as the home of the Wimbledon Championships, the world’s oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament. Held annually at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 1877, this event attracts the greatest tennis players from around the globe and is a highlight of the sporting calendar. The tournament is famed for its traditional grass courts, strict dress code, and British customs, such as Pimms, and strawberries with cream.
Beyond its tennis heritage, Wimbledon offers beautiful green spaces, including Wimbledon Common and Cannizaro Park. With its charming boutiques, cafes, and historic buildings, Wimbledon Village adds to the district’s appeal.
Wimbledon homes have stood the test of time. Victorian terraces, Edwardian semis, larger detached houses tucked behind trees. Whether you’re near the village or closer to South Wimbledon, the houses are solid—but even solid houses can stop working. Life shifts. Families grow. Space runs out. The answer isn’t always on Rightmove. Often, it’s already part of the home you’ve got.
We don’t use jargon. We build carefully and properly. Loft conversions that feel like real rooms. House extensions that fix awkward layouts. Space that makes sense.
Wimbledon has a roofline worth exploring. If your loft’s collecting cobwebs and boxes, there’s a good chance it’s also holding the room you need.
A dormer conversion is a popular choice. It adds full-height space to the rear of your roof, with enough room for a double bed, a study corner, or even a small en suite. It’s practical, straightforward, and it fits well with the older houses lining the Wimbledon streets.
Got a hipped roof? A hip-to-gable conversion replaces the sloping side with a vertical wall, unlocking extra width. Ideal for semis and detached homes near Wimbledon Chase or along Alexandra Road.
For maximum space, a mansard conversion changes the shape of the roof itself. It gives you a nearly flat rear wall with large windows. It takes a bit more time—and planning—but delivers serious space that feels like part of the original build.
And if your loft already has good height, a Velux conversion might be all it needs. Roof windows, insulation, and a proper floor can turn it into a bright, quiet room without changing the outside at all.
If the trouble isn’t upstairs, it’s probably in the kitchen. Or the dining room. Or both.
A rear extension is a simple way to add usable space to the back of the house. Ideal for those long gardens you’ll find across Wimbledon Park and Merton Park. It gives you a bigger kitchen, a family room, or just a space to eat dinner without clearing the laptop first.
A side return extension is perfect for the narrow alleys that run beside many period terraces. That forgotten bit of garden suddenly becomes part of the house. More width. More light. No compromise.
For those who want it all, a wraparound extension brings both together. Rear and side, joined into one space that works the way you need it to—open, liveable, and ready for real life.
Need upstairs space too? A two-storey extension gives you both levels in one build. An extra bedroom, a larger bathroom, maybe even a home office with a view.
We know the houses in Wimbledon. We know the quirks. And we build around them—without fuss, without cutting corners.
If your Wimbledon home feels like it’s run out of room, don’t leave it behind. Let us help you build the space your life needs—right where you are.
